When I took my 1st education class on credit scoring, one practice the instructor did was to make us interpret credit reports and fix lending conclusions without a score. This led to “under lending” in most cases. Plus, it took longer so some applications were never interpreted. That led to more under lending. A credit score isn’t complete but it has made more lives better and right or wrong…credit scores are a reality.

As this article was posted over 6 months ago, I would be very interested to learn if any such changes suggested have been implemented.
The article in the following link illustrates some of Sheila's concerns:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8180806.stm

A certain level of confidence, optimism and focused action is required - are we delivering accordingly?

I concur with your insightful article. It seems that the best hope for many colleges and universities will be in determining how to best create "value-added" situations. Collaborations across traditional university and college boundaries - and the creation of actual linkages will not only be value-added for parents and students - but will have the added value of educating the rest of the community about how each of us plays a role in the overall "development" of our students.
